Chapter 20.1: Talking About The Blood Oath Contract: How it started

Rani looking at me, with a serious look on her face, waiting for me to explain.

"Can we talk about this later? You just woken up and you're recovering" I reasoned. She gave me a pointed look.

"Didn't you the one who wanted to talk about the contract?" She asked suspiciously.

"Yes but that was before you went unconscious on me" I replied.

"So you're saying if I wasn't unconscious, you would tell me about the contract?" She questioned and looking at me closely.

"Yes" I said

"Uh huh. If you say so" she replied. Not believing me.

"It's true Rani. I would of told you at the dinner. You got to believe me"

"Ok" she said simply.

"Can we please about this later. You need rest" I said feeling exhausted.

"No. It's best to talk about this now, so it's out of the way" Rani said reasonably.

"I really think we should talk about this later" I said patiently.

"Stop avoiding this conversation and tell me" she gritted out.

"But we can talk....." she cut me off before I could finish.

"Rudra, you're not getting out of this. Stop stalling and tell me now. Don't use my recovery an as excuse" she snapped impatiently.

"I'm not stalling. I was going to tell you at dinner" I signed.

"Ok.Take out the dinner part, why didn't you tell me before? You had many opportunities to tell me about the blood oath contract but you didn't. Why?" She said accusingly.

"I didn't know how to tell you. I was waiting the right time to tell you" I said with remorse.

"There was never going to the right time to tell me" Rani signed, looking exhausted.

"Fine, if you insist" I said defeatedly. She nod and waited patiently for me to start explaining. I took a deep breath.

"It started about few years ago, when I was Sixteen, when I had to visit Raiden's pack, where we had to spend time together so that we can get use to being a couple as we're betrothed to one an another" I started. Rani was nodding and looking at me with natural expression on her face, couraging to continue.

"That day, my parents told me that we're be joining dinner with Raiden and her parents. I refused to cause I didn't see the need for it and I thought it's bad enough that I had to come to their damn pack anyways but they were persistent about. So I went so they can shut up about it. When it was time for dinner my parents send me on my own and said they'll join me soon. I thought it was suspicious that they didn't join me but I went anyway. However, when I got to the dining hall it was only Raiden sitting there. I was lived. My our parents set it up; so I walk out straight and went to the guest room and order one of the servant to send my food to my room" I explained. Rani just nodded.

"During the evening, I took a shower before I went to bed. When got out if the bathroom, I saw Raiden was in the room, lying on the bed, waiting for me. I told her to get out but she refused. Instead she walked up to me and tried to be all seductive towards me. I yelled at her to get out or she suffer by my hands" at this stage Rani's eyes went black for a split second but she kept her composure. She wave her hand for me to continue.

"However, Raiden' still didn't leave. She went up to me and tried to kiss me; before she could, I slapped her away and she fell on the floor. She yelled at me about telling me that we are engage and that we should act like a couple because people expect us to act like one. I told her I didn't care what people think, and I didn't give a damn about spoilt herself. She was in tears. Telling me I'm a crawl person and I shouldn't treat her that way cause once we married, we will be ruling the Midnight Dragon Pack and the rest kingdom together. I laught at her face. I told her that she won't be ruling anything. She was just be queen in the public eye and only that we going to marry cause her parents was so desperate for their pack to be saved that they sign their only daughter away like a prize possession. She screamed at me and slapped cross the face. That when I lost it. I grabbed her neck and threw her across the room, smashed the wall mirror. She cried out in pain but I didn't stop. I threw her again to the other side of the room which lead her smashing the pictures on the walls. I kept on throwing her. Once I was tired of doing that I punched her a few times; by that times, she was bloody all over her body and had a few broken nose but I didn't care. All I saw was red and I just wanted to see her in pain. She begged me to stop but I didn't care. I told her what would happened if she didn't leave. I wanted her to suffer. I wanted her to be in extreme pain, so use my flames to burn her flesh. I started at her stomach then each of her limbs. She was screaming in agony but I just laughed at her pain. Having great pleasure watching her struggle" I continued. Rani didn't respond but just focusing on my story.

"I was so busy torturing Raiden that I didn't hear people barging in. They were trying to r*****f away from her. It took ten guards and her father to drag me out. After that the council was involved and that's how the blood oath contract was formed" I finished. Rani was silent for a bit, staring away. I got anxious for her to saying something or anything. Is this how she feels when I get this? If so I don't like it.

"You son of b***h" she yelled at me. Before I could react, she lunged at me.

"You bastard. How can you be so strupid?" She said furiously. Punching me everywhere she could hit as I tried to block some of the blows from her.

"You're bloody i***t. This is what happens when you loose your temper. You need to control it" she shouted at me as she still continued punching me.

"I'm sorry my pretty little demon. You know how I get when people disrespect me" I reasoned.

"Don't pretty demon me, Rudra. I'm so pissed at you right now. You don't know how badly I want to strangle yourneck right now" she heaved. Blackness slipping out of her.

"Rani I'm sorry but you need to calm down. You need rest. The doctor said no magic" I said concerning. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breath to calm herself down. After a few moments of silence, she opened her eyes to look at me.

"sorry ain't going to cut, Rudra. This will be difficult to get out of, you know?" She said exhausted. Rubbing her forehead.

"I know. I figure it out" I assured her. Taking her hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.

"How? you can't click your fingers and hope it will go away" she signed. Looking away from me, avoiding eye contact. I took her chin to face me.

"I don't know how but I'll find away. Just have faith in me. Please" I whispered softly to her. Putting my forehead to her's. She cupped my face, with her small hands and stroking my cheek with her thumb. After a moment of silence, Rani leaned back. She looked at me like she just realise something. A switch bulb in her head.

"I might know how you can get out of this" she said hopefully. I looked at her in confusion.

"How?" I questioned her. Eyeing her suspiciously.

"I'll tell you but I need to see the contract first" she said with determination on her face.
