Chapter 9: Meeting The Mystical Wolf

Rudra

This beautiful creature was just staring at me with those gorgeous midnight purple eyes. So much curiosities in them.

"Rudra" the wolf spoke softly.

"Rani, is that you?" I asked again.

"Not quite but I'm a part of her. However, its nice to finally meet you" the wolf spoke. Wait she can talk? And what she meant by not quite?

"I means that we're connected to one another but also two separate people. Its not like you and your wolf that you are one, so if you die, your wolf dies but me and Rani if she dies, I still exist or the other way round" she tried to explained. Not sure if that make sense.

"And yes I can talk" she added. Interesting, I never known a wolf who can speak.

"I know it doesn't make sense and I'm the only one who can talk to people without mind linking them. Well what I know of that is" agreeing with me. Wait she can read my thoughts?

"Yes I can" she answered. This maybe a just a lucky guess.

"It's not a lucky guess. I can read your thoughts" she answered again.

"OK let test this theory" she just rolled her eyes.

"fine, if it's help you convince yourself" she huffed. Now I have to think of something.

"OK, what number am I think? (Sixteen but I'll just say two)" She gave me a glare.

"Sixteen but you were going to say two and that's cheating may I add" she said with disappointment in her voice.

"Sorry" I said sheepishly, rubbing the back of my neck. She nod, excepting the apology. She got up and stretched. As she was standing, I couldn't believe what I saw. She was tall, probably few inches tall than my wolf and he's seven foot tall. However, I didn't care. She was still perfect in my eyes.

"Do you want to run with me? My big bad wolf" with excitement in her voice.

"Of course" I said without hesitation and shifted into my wolf. She walked over me, nip my right ear and she ran off.

"Catch me if you can if you think you're fast enough" she challenged as she ran off into the woods. After a moment of shock, I dashed after her.

She was really fast I must a admit but I was hot on her tail. When I was about pounce on her, she swiftly took a turn, making me stumble but I caught my balance.

"You thought you could get me, huh? My big bad wolf?" She teased.

"I'm just warming up sunshine" I teased back. She kept running while I chased after her. We ran for while, me trying to catch her and she dodge me every time. I must say she has quick reflexes. I give her that. She was running towards a river and then suddenly stopped, making slammed into her. She yelped as we fell in to the water. We came out of the water and shook ourselves off. We were panting, trying to catch our breath. I never had this much fun in my life.

"Who would of thought that the big bad wolf has a playful side" she mused.

"Only for you my pretty little thing" I said playfully.

"Little? I'm few inches tall than you" she retorted. Look like I touch a nerve.

"I was just jesting sweetheart" I cooed. She giggled.

"I'm just pulling your leg darling" she said sweetly. I growled playfully but gave her a stink eye. She laughed. She has a beautiful laugh.

"Thank you" she replied. Damn! I forgot she could read my mind. She laughed some more.

She came over to me and nuzzled my nose. I nuzzled back. We layed down. Her leaning against me and I rest my head on top hers. We stayed like this, looking over the river and enjoying each other company. It felt right being with her. After a while cuddling together, she spoke.

"Rudra" she started.

"Hmm yes sweetheart?"

"It's my time to go" she stated. Go? Go where?

"I have to give Rani back control" she stated.

"Do you have to go?" I asked

"You don't want Rani back" she said suspiciously. Eyeing me.

"Of course I do" I said honestly. She smiled.

"Can you do me one favour?" She asked

"Of course" I said without hesitation.

"Rani mustn't know I exist, well not at the moment at least" she looked at me with remorse.

"Why not?" I questioned.

"She's not ready yet. She still not mature enough. She still have few more years until she is able to meet and more importantly, its too dangerous for her" she said apologetic.

"Then how comes you're here now?"

"Rani emotions was overwhelming her which lead me to shift" she answered. I nod my head with understanding. I didn't want her to go but I do want my Rani back.

"Promise me you won't tell her?" She looked at me with pleaded eyes. I sign. How much I don't like secrets and lies to Rani but if it is for her safety then I don't have much of a choice but to oblige her request.

"Ok. I won't tell" giving her a reassuring smile. She smiled back at me.

"We will meet again. I promise" she assured me.

"Ok, I'll wait for you" I said thoughtfully.

"But before I go, I must warn you that she won't remember me and she will feel exhausted, so she might be out for a few days. She aslo might not remember most of the event that happened tonight" she explained.

"So she won't remember the announcement about my engagement?" I asked hopefully.

"Its a possibility but not sure. Until then my love" and with that, she shift back. Black and purple flames surrounded her until Rani reappeared. The flamed died down. Rani was lying on the ground but there was a slight glow around her. Then it faded away.

I picked her up bridle style and then all of a sudden orange flames surround me and the next moment I was in my room, with Rani still in my arms. She wimped. I changed her into a night gown and put her in my bed. Tucking her in. I changed into just t- shirt and shorts, and slide in next to her, making sure I don't wake her. I pulled her to my chest, her back facing me and I wrap my arm around her. She snuggled close to me. I smirked to that.

"Rudra" she moaned in her sleep.

"I'm here my pretty little demon. You're safe with me. You just rest" I whispered to her. Stoking her hair for comfort. Closing my eyes and letting sleep take over with Rani in my arms.
