Chapter 42: She's In Danger And You Left Her On Her Own

It was pouring down with rain and everyone is drenched and muddy. I was busy slicing off the last of the troll's head with a clean cut. It's head rolled to the ground. I was feeling satisfied that every troll was dead.

"Is anybody hurt or seriously injured?" I asked as I looked over to the men. They all shook their head no. Good I thought. They did a great job of killing those filthy trolls, never exspect anything else from them. However, what's bothered me is that, what were they doing here in the first place. I travelling on this road for years and I never have I ever encounter them here until now. So what changed?

Alpha Johnson and my father walked over to me, both covered in blood and dirt.

"Is it me or do you think this is odd that the trolls started attack us in this part of the woods?" alpha Johnson asked as he was wiping the blood on his face.

"No, not just you. I thought it was odd too. They never come to this parts of the woods. What's changed?" My father wondered as he was also wiping the blood off his face. So I wasn't the only one who think it was odd. I'll worry about that later. My main concern is Rani and I hope she is ok and not injured.

"We'll worry about later. Lets check on the girls" I said impatiently. My father and alpha nodded in agreement. We head back to the carriage but once we got there, it was turned on it side. In a panic, I ran up to it checked for Rani and not caring about Raiden. My father and alpha Johnson ran right behind me to check as well.

"Rani, are you ok?" I asked worried. I looked inside and she wasn't there. My father and alpha Johnson looked inside the carriage. The both looked nervous.

"Where are the girls? They were ment to stay put" alpha Johnson growled. He looked furious. I don't blame him though, I'm furious myself.

"There's no point standing here like mindless poppets. Let go find them" my father stated. Nodded in agreement, we headed off in to the woods. We were running into woods and trying to get a wiff of Rani scent but it was difficult task due to the rain pouring down heavily. However, I didn't give, I can't give up. I won't rest until Rani is safe unto my arms. So I kept on running. As we were running, I saw a figure coming towards us; I was in a defensive stance, ready to attack at any moment but alpha Johnson put his hand on my shoulder.

"Easy there, prince Rudra, it's my daughter, Raiden" alpha Johnson said relived but as soon as Raiden got closer, he frowned. Why was he frowning? I looked back to Raiden and I realised something. Where's Rani? How comes she not with Raiden? Did that b***h left her?

"Papa, thank the goddess I found you. You don't know how scared i was? I thought I'llnever see you again" Raiden said relieved. Hugging her father. He hugged her back.

"Your majesty and price Rudra, I'm also glad to see you" she said sweetly. I found it repulsive.

"I'm glad that you're ok" my father said. Patting on on her shoulder.

"Why did you leave the carriage?" alpha Johnson asked.

"The troll was attacking us, so I got out and ran. Rani was calling me to tell me to come back as she was trying to catch up to me" she said hesitantly.

"How can you be this stupid and reckless?" alpha Johnson grumbled under his breath. That I want to know as well but I just want to know where's Rani? That's my main priority.

"Where's Rani?" I said impatiently. Worrying about her wellbeing. Raiden looked nervous now and avoiding eye contact.

"Well ...you see... we were chased by a troll, that was attackingthe carriage" Raiden sheepishly said.

"Where is Rani?" I repeated. Already getting irritated. However, she didn't respond. Her father was getting annoyed.

"Answer the man. Where's Rani?" Alpha Johnson snapped. Raiden looked at her father with shocked.

"I don't know. I ran off when the troll got her" she admitted. My blood was boiling with rage. I was about to say something when alpha Johnson beat me to it.

"YOU LEFT RANI ON HER OWN WITH THE TROLL? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?" He bellowed at her. Raiden was shell shocked to her father outburst. Me and my father looked at him in utter shocked. Ever since I known the man, he never raised his voice to her let alone bellowed at her. He always treated her like a princess but now he looked at her with disappointment.

"I was scared for my life papa. I didn't think and just ran" she said, looking hurt. He just scoffed at her.

"So you ran away like a coward and didn't even attempt to help Rani?" Alpha Johnson said bitterly. Raiden looked away in shame. We heard a roar and it sounded close.

"Now we established that your daughter is a coward. Can go find Rani now?" I asked, getting agitated by the second. Alpha Johnson nodded but my father just rolled his eyes. I growled to the disrespect to my Rani.

"Raiden go with the king. Prince Rudra and I would go looked for Rani" he demanded to Raiden. She was about to protest when her father gave her a pointed look. She faltered and left with my father. Me and alpha Johnson took off to the direction where we heard the roar from. When we were close, I couldn't believe my eyes. The troll was holding Rani and it was sniffing her. She was dangling in it's hands, lifeless and bloody. To my disgust, it licked her, tasting her to see if she is ready to eat. I had to do something be that filthy creature eat her. Alpha Johnson didn't even hesitate. He went into action and I followed suite.

"You go save Rani while I'll deal with the troll" he commanded. Termination on his face. Normally I would burn him for commanding me to do something but in this situation my main focus was to get Rani out of there and take her to safety. I leaped up and cut off the troll's hand with my sword, that was in flames. The troll's hand fell to the ground but before it did, I ripped it fingers off and grabbed Rani. It roared in pain. I looked at Rani and she started to look pale; her life slowly fading. Johnson leaped into the air; he was covered in blue flames and stabbed the troll's right with his sword. It stumbled backwards, covering it's injured eye. Without giving it a chance to recover, alpha Johnson made his right fist into his flames and lunged right through it's chest and yanked out its heart. The troll collapse on the ground with a thud. It was dead now. He went over to me and looked at Rani with sorrow. I didn't like it one bit. I growled. He just gave me a disapproving look.

"There's no time to be possessive, boy, Rani needs medical attention immediately" telling me off like I'm a child who's misbehaving. I grumbled. I hate to admit but he's right. My pretty little demon need medical help immediately.

"Use your flames to slow down the bleeding and to keep her body warm until we go to the closest town" he stated seriously. I nodded with agreement and we dashed back to the rest of our men with Rani in my arms.

"Just hold on, my love. We'll get you healed up. You're with me now" I whispered softly to her. Hoping she could hear me. Don't leave me. That was the only thought and praying to the goddesses to keep Rani alive.
