Chapter 46.1: Having Dinner With The Council: You Have No Respect

I walking down the hallway, on my way to the dining hall with Rani by my side. However, when I made it to the hall. It wasn't just the St.Clear and my parents joining for dinner, it was the elder councils was there also. There were three of them sitting by the table. That made me stop in my tracks. What are they doing here? I thought they would come on Raiden's birthday.

"s**t!" I cursed out. Rani looked up at me with concern on her face.

"What is it swamp beast?" My Rani asked worried. I turned round to face her. Blocking her view from the dining hall.

"I just wanted to say I didn't know they would be here" I rushed. Rani just looked at me with confusion.

"Who's there Rudra?" She asked as she was trying to get a glimpse behind me.

"You must believe me, Rani I didn't know. Tell me you believe me" I begged. Panicking she'll blow up and leave me. My goddess I sound desperate but do you blame me? I f****d up multiple times with my pretty little demon. I'm just hoping she believe me.

"Rudra can you calm down please and tell me who's there?" She said calmly.

"Tell me you believe me first then I'll tell you" I pleaded.

"Yes I believe you. Would you please tell me now?" She said annoyed. I can see she was getting frustrated. I took a deep breath.

"The elder councils are here, at the dining hall, with my parents and St.Clear" I said slowly and delicately. Waiting for Rani to let the information sink in. She just blinked at me.

"Oh!" Is all she said.

"Are you ok? my love" I asked. Watching her reaction closely.

"Yep" she said in a monotone voice.

"You're sure. You don't look sure"

"Yes I'm sure"

"During the dinner, we can leave at anytime if it's too much for you" I assured her.

"Ok" she said simply.

"I mean it Rani, anytime and we're gone" making it clear to her. She nodded.

"I know you do, Rudra. It's ok. Let just get this dinner over with ok?" I said sincerely.

"Ok. Lets do this" I agreed. Pumping myself up. I took her hand and lead her to the hall.

When we were at the table I noticed that there were two seat empty but not together. One was next to Raiden and the other was next to alpha Johnson. I grumbled under my breath.

"Ah prince Rudra. It's nice of you to finally join us" one of the elders said. A male person who had grey hair with white streak. Grayish blue eyes that had a mole under his left eye. He had pale complexion. He was a dragon shifter. I could tell by his smell.

"I see you brought your... curse of a creature of yours" he said with disgust. He looked like he is insulted by her for being in his presence. I growled to the insult.

"She's not my curse creature. She's my partner and I would like you to remember that" I gritted out. How dare he disrespect my Rani. She was squeezing my hand gently. I looked at her softly.

"It's ok swamp beast, just breathe, ok? We can get through with this" she whispered gently. Giving me a sweet smile. I kissed her temple.

"Yes we can.Thank you, my pretty little demon" I said with gratitude and looking at her adorable.

"Of course. We're a team, right?" She said lovingly.

"Yes of course we're a team" I agreed. I couldn't help but lick her scar. Her cheeks went scarlet red of embarrassment. She's too cute. How am I get so lucky to have her in my life. I thank the goddesses everyday that they brought her in my life.

"How touching" my mother said sarcastically. I growled. My hand went into a fist, making my nails digging into my palm. I can feel my flames rising from hands. Everyone on the table looking nervous now. I was about to loose it when I felt a hand wrap around my fist.

"Calm down, sweetheart. It's ok, I'm ok, you're ok. Just breathe" Rani said softly as she was stroking my hand. I took a few deep breath. My flames started to die down until it was completely gone.

"Thank you, my love" I said affectionate. She gave me a small smile.

"I must say. Not many or shall I say no one could tame the dragon prince. Not even the king and queen" an elder said. Looking impressed. This one was a woman. She had long, dark red, wavey hair. She had mocha complexion. Her eyes had two different colours, one was violet purple and the other one was light orange. She was a witch. Rani hand squeezed my hand hard for a split second. I guess she doesn't like the way the elder said 'tame'.

"Rudra doesn't need to be tamed. If people just think before they speak then they wouldn't have to feel his wrath" my Rani quipped. Defending on my behalf. The elder councils was stunned.

"Or maybe he need to control his emotions" my father said with annoyance and giving me pointed look.

"Show some respect to the elders, girl. Don't you have no shame?" My mother hissed. I glared at my mother. Rani just shrugged.

"No. Not when they disrespecting Rudra" she said bluntly. My parents looked lived.

"And quite frankly it's not a smart either, knowing what Rudra is capable of" she added. The look on the elders's faces was priceless. Their jaw dropped and their eyes was so wide that they could pop out any second. They were speechless. I smirked. I looked at my pretty little demon with pride. Alpha Johnson cleared his throat.

"Why don't everyone calm down. We don't want to cause a scene now" he said quietly tone. Trying defuse the situation.

"Why don't you guys sit down. Why don't you sit next to me, Rani and Rudra why don't you sit next Raiden" alpha Johnson suggested. He looked at Rani with hope in his eyes. Rani tensed up and quickly grabbed my hand. I don't like the way he's staring at her. It was unnerving. However, I'll be damned if I let someone sit next to her. No sits next to Rani but me.

"No one sits next to Rani but me" I gritted out.

"It makes sense that you sit next to me, prince Rudra. We are betrothed after all" she said. Looking foreign innocent. Rani stared at her. There was a craze look in her eyes that make a normal person shiver and turn ice cold. Personally I found it sexy. What a turn on. Maybe we should forget about dinner and go straight to the bedroom so I can eat her out like there's no tomorrow. Yep that sounds like a good idea but someone interrupt my thoughts.

"She's right though. You should sit next to Raiden. To get use to sitting next to each other" the third elder member spoken in a authority in their voice. They were a male Lycan. He had straight, long charcoal hair tied in a low pony tail and a bushy, trimmed beard. His eyes was emerald green and he had tan skin. He can't be serious? I can't stand to be in the same room as her let alone sit together.

"I'll sit with alpha Johnson and Rani sit next to Raiden" I stated.

"Don't be silly, Rudra. Sit with Your betrothed" the elder dragon said.

"Come Rani, sit next to me. I won't bite" alpha Johnson teased and pattingthe sit next to him. Luna Mary and Raiden looked at him like he was a stranger. I felt murderous. Was he flirty with my Rani? I'll kill him if he dare thinking touching her. Rani looked hesitant. She looked at me with panic in her eyes. My poor pretty little demon.

"Remember, anytime you feel uncomfortable, we can just go" I reminded her with a whisper. She nodded for understanding. I walked over, with her and pulled a her chair to sit on. She sat down and I pushed her chair in, delicately. I kissed her temple. I gave a warning glare at alpha Johnson and went back to the other side, and reluctantly sat next to Raiden.

The food starting arriving and the omegas dished out our plates for us. Once everyone food was dished out, we ate. It there was an awkward silence between us. You could cut the tension with an sword. It was suffocating to say the least.

My parents started talking to the elder councils. Talking about the some pack business. Raiden was talking to her mother, which I not bothered about. My main focus was Rani and alpha Johnson. He was have a conversation with Rani. She was nodding and giving short answers. I can tell that she was uncomfortable sitting next to him cause she was fidgeting in her seat and trying to make a distant between her and alpha Johnson. She kept giving me side glances like she afraid that I'll disappear if she doesn't check on me. I glared at alpha Johnson for making my Rani uncomfortable. I wanted to rip him away from her. Maybe we should go. I mindlinked her.

"Do you want to leave, my love" I asked.

"Yes swamp beast. I want to go now. I don't feel comfortable sitting next to me" she replied with relief in her voice.

"Lets go then" I said to her. She looked relieved and got out of her seat. I did the same. Everyone stop what they were doing and looked at us.

"Where do you think you are going?" My mother said sternly. She gave me a look that said don't embarrass her in front of the councils.

"I'm leaving with Rani and calling it a night" I said simply.

"You're being rude, boy. We are guest in this The Blue Moon Pack. Apologies now" my father said furiously.

"No I won't. I'm headed to my room with Rani" I retorted.

"You stay. That can go by herself" my mother spat.

"That you are talking about is the love of my life you're disrespecting" I gritted and having the urge to fling my mother out of the window. The council elders was stunned to the news. Raiden just scoffed.

"Oh please. There's no point of loving her when you're going to marry me and be mated." Raiden said like I'm delusional. Rani growled.

"My swamp beast might be marrying you but he's mine to love and have, so I suggest you stay in your lane, b***h," my Rani snapped.

"How dare you call me a b***h. I'll kill you" Raiden screeched.

"I like to see you try but I wouldn't advised it" Rani challenged. She had a daring look on her face.

"Why that? You don't think I won't do it?" Raiden questioned ferociously. Picking up the knife.

"I think you can but have forgotten what I am capable of? Look at your mother" my pretty little demon pointed out as she nudge her head towards Raiden's mother. Raiden went wide eyed. The realisation hitting her and putting the knife down. Rani smirked.

"Good girl. Now sit down like a good little dragon" she patronised. Raiden looked defeated. The elder dragon council shot up.

"You dare threatened and patronised your future queen?" He sneered. Rani just shrugged like it was nothing.

"She's not my future queen and quite frankly I don't think she got what it takes to be queen" she added disapprovaling.

"You really don't have no shame. You leave me with no choice" the elder dragon said with venom. Before Rani could react, he went straight up to her and slice her throat. She went wide eyed and holding her throat.

"RANI" I yelled. Rushing to her side and trying to stop the bleeding. She looked at me with a frightened look.

"It's ok. Just hold on" I said. Tears in my eyes. She reached for my face and cupped my cheek. She gave me apologetic smile and then she was gone.
