Chapter 4: Causing Trouble

(10 years later)

It's been ten years that I've been working with Rudra and I have to say it is too bad than I thought it will be. Don't get me wrong though, I do clash with most of the omega servants and some of the guards. However, mostly the queen. Me and her do not get along at all. She hates me to the very core. She calls me all sorts of names, like worthless, curse creature, ugly blood sucker and my personal favourite, useless, half breed, infected pest of a demon. Even though those names hurt my feelings, I never show it. I wouldn't give her or others the satisfaction of showing it. That would only give them fuel to break me. I know that is what they want. I get beaten, whipped and spit at but I don't think I tolerate it, oh no, I fight back. I given some few broken bones and bruises and one time I even slapped the queen once because she pushed me too far with her insults which I get few whipping in the dungeons for over a night. However, I think its worth it. Of course not when Rudra is around. They don't want to anger him. That would be a death sentence.

This week is a busy week because it will be Rudra's birthday and he will be turning twenty. It will be my birthday too even though I don't know when my actual birthday is but Rudra decided that it will be my birthday too because, in he's word, 'it will be easier to remember.' Believe it or not, it is the only day he gives me have a day off and do whatever I like. Every year I ask him what he wants for his birthday and every year he says he doesn't want or need anything from me because he said he doesn't need anything and it will be a waste of time to give him one so this year I won't push it.

I'm on my way to the kitchen to prepare his breakfast, it's one of the things I had to do for him. Walking over to the fridge and getting ingredients that I need for the day. Today it's slices of ham, sausages, eggs, bread rolls and a bowl of fruits. I put the bread rolls in the oven while I start frying the sausages and eggs. Ignoring the sly comments from the omegas. It doesn't bother me cause I'm use to it. Once I finish the sausages and eggs, I get the plate and a bowl for the fruits, from the cupboard and of course they're on the top shelf. Just my luck. Climbing the counter to get the plate and bowl but I missed my footing and fell. I would of hit the floor but a strong pair of hands caught me.

"Careful there, you could hurt yourself " a deep, husky voice said behind me.

"Thanks Marco" I said kindly. Turning round to meeting a six foot man with hazel eyes and short, wavey chestnut hair with some highlights. Tan skin and some freckles across his nose.

"No problem chipmunk" winking at me

"I wish you didn't call me that all the time" I huffed

"But you are because you're cute with your chubby cheeks" with a loop sided smile while pinching my cheek. I just look at him with annoyance and rubbing my cheek where he pinched.

Marco is one of the few people who showed me kindness, respect and treats me as a person, not like most who treats me worse than a filthy, orphan omega. He likes a brother to me. He's three years older than me but you wouldn't believe it the way he acts and his a Lycan. Always teasing me about my height, always making jokes and most importantly, he always stick up for me to making sure that no one mess with me; only if he can when he's around howeve, I'm so ever grateful for him because he's one of the reasons why keeps me sane and make this royal pack bareable for all those years. He's one of the top warriors in this royal pack and must say he is worthy warrior. I've seen him fight at training and he's like a craze, vicious beast on the training grounds; he even help me train with him so that I can defend myself when he's not around but only if we have free time to do though.

I started plating up the food and and got some juice from the fridge for Rudra's breakfast and put it on the tray. Starting to making my way to his bedroom.

"I'll escort you to the Prince's bedroom, chipmunk" with a smile on Marco face.

"There's no need for that Marco" I said sincerely

"You're right that I don't need to but I want to" he softly said I just gave him a blank stare.

"And anyway I got to make sure that got to him safely cause I know some people in this pack has a grudge against you but most importantly you're like a sister to me actually scratch that you are my sister even though we're not blood related and i don'tcare what you are; I still care about you. You're one of the most important people in my life " he said lovingly with a hint of seriousness in his voice.

I was touched and loved. Tears fighting to let out. This is one of the reasons I appreciate Marco.

"That is sweetest thing you said to me" I sniffed.

"It's the truth Rani"

"Ok, enough of this sappy stuff. Lets go"

"After you malady" taking a step back, bowing and lifting his left arm suggesting to lead the way. I just roll my eyes at him and heading to the Prince's room, Marco following behind me.

Once I've reached Rudra's bedroom, thanked Marco for escorting me which he gives me a kiss on a temporal of side of my head, which he always does every time he escort me to any place I need to go. I tell him every time that it's embarrassing and he just laugh every time. However, secretly I don't know mind it to be honest cause it shows that he cares but I don't tell him that.

Knocking at the door and waiting for a response.

"Enter" Rudra gruffly respond. I enter the room finding him in bed waiting. I place the tray of food on the small dining table with two chairs on opposite sides and wait for him for his next introduction. He got out of bed, stretching his back and arms, leaving him with just his pants. I just roll my eyes.

Over the years he became tall and muscular. Lost his baby fat when I first saw him at the auction. He had a scar on the side on his right side of the corner of his lips, he got in one of the battles during the years. He even has a scar on his broard back. He has a stubble on his sharp jaw and his ashy, blonde hair has been cut short with some of his curly hair fanning front of his face above his eyes; covering his arch, slightly bushy eye brows. His lips are full with a shade of light, rosy, pink lips. He still has those bright, ocean blue eyes that I think it's his best feature. He has tan skin with his six pack abs and has hairs on his chest.

He walked up to me and scan me head to toe, he then walked up to his bedside table and brought out a flask and walked up to the table. He sat down to eat. He nod to the chair opposite him, suggesting that I sit and put the flask on the table. So I did.

"Drink it" he said authority

"What is it?" Looking at it suspiciously

"Blood" annoying said

"Ok. Where did you get the blood? Who's blood is it? Is it human or animal blood?" Questioning it. Don't get me wrong, I had blood during the years but it was manly animal blood that I hunt. Rudra never gave me blood before.

"Just drink it" Getting impatient with the questions.

"Fine, don't answer my questions. At least you could say please " getting frustrated with his attitude.

He just gave me a murderous stare which didn't scare me .I just gave one back. He look at his plate and started eating while I drank from the flask. I'm not going to lie, the blood tasted good, really really good; the best I tasted. Better that animal blood. I've finished every drop at the same time Rudra finish his food except the bowl of fruits and a roll of bread. I looked at him think he must be full but to my surprise he pushed the food towards me.

"Eat this. I know you haven't eaten yet" he said sternly.

I just looked at him astonished. For years that I served him, this is the first time he offered me his food. It's true that I haven't eaten yet but how did he know. He just stared at me, excepting me to start eating.

"I don't want to sound ungrateful but why you giving this?" feeling awkward.

"I need you to eat. You haven't eaten enough I notice" he said matter of fact.

"Ummm thank you I guess" staring at the food.

He just nod and suggested me to start eating. While I was eating he was watching me. Making sure I eat every bit of food. Once I've finished the rest of the food, I started to clean up but Rudra stop me.

"Leave it" he grumbled

"Why?" Feeling confused.

"I need you to collect something for me from the town"

"What about the mess? Who's going to clean it up"

"The servant of course" looking at me like it was a stupid question and it's the obvious answer.

I just nod.

"Before you do that, there's a task that you know what to do" he raise a brow at me.

Fighting the urge not to roll my eyes, I do the task that I have to do. Every morning after Rudra have his breakfast, I'll start

Running his bath; putting some jasmine infuse with sea salts to relax his muscles. While he's in the bath, I get a set of clothes for him to wear for the day. Once he finished his bath and dry himself off, I get him dress. I put on his trousers, shirt, his socks and then put on his boots; when I'm finished doing that, I'll do his hair. The first time he told me to do this I said do it himself which cause me to be typed up with no food, water and blood and top it off I got a few slashes with a knife. All by Rudra's hand. He doesn't let anyone else punish me. A guard once punished me, let just say that he wasn't the same when Rudra heard what happened, hence the secretly get punishment when Rudra is out of town.

When I finished doing his hair, he went to his draw and took out a piece of paper and handed it to me.

"His the instructions that I want you to get and where to get it" he inform me

"Ok sure." Looking forward to head town. But before I got to chance to leave, Rudra stop me.

"Oh and Rani, don't cause trouble" giving me a stern look.

" aye aye swamp beast" giving him a quick salute.

"I mean it Rani, no trouble" not leaving any room to argue.

I nod to him and starting leaving.

I'm in town, following the instructions Rudra gave me. Looking for the place I need to be. It didn't took me long to find the place, it was a shop, a small building. Entering the shop, I was in awe. There was all kind of things, like little trinket, some of them move like they were dancing, thinkingthey must be enchanted. Here was some jewellery, music boxes, different kinds of candles and fairy lights. It was amazing I would say.

"Is there something you need miss" a elderly woman asked.

"Oh yes, I'm here for collection" handing her a note to her.

She looked at it and went to the back of the shop. It took her only a few minutes to come back. She handed me a small package.

"Thank you" I said politely

"Anytime dear" she smiled.

I was about to head to the door when something caught my eye. It was a necklace. Not an ordinary necklace. It was a black wolf that it eyes glowed red and next to it was a red dragon that it eyes glowed gold; and they were facing was a wolf and a dragon also but the wolf was gold with glowed purple eyes and the wolf was also gold with flecks of red at it end of its scales that has midnight purple eyes but with flecks of white that almost looks like stars. What really got my attention was the the raven that looked like it was bind the wolves and the dragons by wrapping its wings around them, like guiding them together. The raven was facing me. It was staring at me. I moved to the side and it eyes moved to me, still staring. I step to the other side and again its eyes moved to stare at me. By the goddesses it was freaking me out but at the same time I couldn't stop staring at it.

"That doesn't normally happens" the old lady mentioned. Which I didn't notice that she was standing next to me. I thought this would be a good gift for Rudra's birthday. I know he doesn't want me to give him a gift on his birthday but for some reason I just need to have it, like its want me to take it. Can't explain it.

"How much for it?" I asked. The old lady looked at me and then the necklace. A deep thought on her face.

"You can have it. It's on me. I think was made for you" she offered. I was taken back but great full.

"Are you sure? Cause I don't have mind paying" feeling guilty.

"Of course my dear. Have it" she assured me.

"Thank you"

"Anytime dear" giving a friendly smile. I gave one in return. I took the necklace and left the shop.

I was on my way when someone bumped me and I almost drop the package.

"watch it commoner" are haired, pale woman rudely said while she walked away from me with her to body guards walked behind her.

"How about look where you're going dimwit" I shouted.

The woman stopped in her tracks and turned round to face me.

"What did you say to me" she hissed.

"You heard me or are you deaf"

"How dare you talk to me. Do you know who I am?"

"Do you know who I am?" I reply back. She paused for a moment and then she composed herself

"No I don't and I don't care. I'll will won't be spoken like that by anyone especially like someone like you" she spat. This women is getting on my nerves now.

"Someone like me? What you mean by that?" I questioned

"People like you. A low life who no-one look twice of. I mean do you even wash yourself? Cause you smell like a sewerage that never been cleaned with a dashed horse s**t. So Isuggestyou knowyour place" she smug .

I had a enough of this pompous woman. I slapped her so hard that her head swung leaving hand mark on her cheek and have a split lip.

"I had enough listening your insult. People like you is the problem with society. Looking down on people thinking that you're better than people like me. Well let me tell you what. I rather be poor covered with shits than people like you who never worked in your life. Who doesn't know what it's like to have sore muscles, joints pain, rushing around all day cleaning and cooking for wealthy people like you" I raise my voice causing to people to stare.

"Oh and another thing, I should cut your nasty tongue so that no one can't hear your screeching voice" I added. The shocked on her face say it all then her face turned twisted.

"Guards get her" she demanded.

Well crap. Me and my big mouth. Rudra told me not to cause trouble. I'm screwed. It's my time to go. Before they could get me, I ran. I ran as fast as I could, the guards hot on my tail. I try throwing them off guard by firing black bolts towards them as the same time trying not to hurt or injured people while running past them. I ran through an alley way and stop at a dead end. I turned round to see that the guards blocked me but before I can get me I blinked out of there and went land back to the pack house. I took a deep breath and mind link Rudra that I arrived.

"Where are you swamp beast?"

"study"

"Ok be there in a blink" after that he end the mind link and what I said I blink to the study. I saw him behind his desk looking at some sort of paper work, not looking up at me but I know that he knows I'm here.

I rolled my eyesand said "I collected the package you sent me"

He looked up and looked at the package in my hand. He went around the table, walked towards me, took the package and put it in the drawer behind the desk.

"I'm going to dining hall and you coming with me" he stated.

Well this is new. He never tell me to come to the dining hall with him. I don't know what's going on with Rudra but his acting strange.

"Umm ok" having nothing else to say.

So we walked to the dining hall where most of the pack members were waiting for their food. As soon as they noticed Rudra stepped in the hall, everyone got up and submit the neck to him and said "majesty" and he allowed them to sit back down. He walked up to the table for reserve for the royals; sitting next to his father, the king, and next to the king is the queen a.k.a the megar b***h who's giving me nasty look. I stood behind Rudra cause I don't know what else to do. Rudra turned round to look at me and I looked back thinking what now.

"Sit here" he demanded

"What?" Feeling confused. He gave me look saying that you know what I said and I don't like repeating myself. Feeling conflicted I sat down next to him. It didn't help that everyone was staring between me and Rudra; even the king and queen was staring at us as well. Looking at Rudra like he insane and don't approved but he payed no mind to them. The king cleared his throat.

"Son there be some people who will be joining us" he stated.

"Who?" Said looking annoyed.

"Raiden and her parents"

Rudra went from annoyed to down right murderous. I wonder who this person be to make him looked liked that. That's when I heard foot steps from the hall and everyone looked at the person, who just entered the hall. When looked up to the person, I couldn't believe my eyes; it was that red headed woman I bumped into in town. Why the goddess that it has to be me. I'm in deep trouble now.
