Chapter 17.2: A Deadly Dinner With The Families

Everyone was screaming, trying to escape. Rudra started to stalk towards his mother and Raiden's mother. He was half shifting. His claws was out his body was covered with scales, his face into beast like. Steam coming out of his nostrils. The hall heating up by the second. Flames were surrounding the whole hall. The flames was blocking the exit and all of the windows, making the people trapped. Portraits starting to melt. I never seen Rudra full on phycho before. His parents, Raiden and her parents are petrified now. The king and Raiden's father went in front of the women protectively. Trying to shield them from the flames.

"Rudra, stop this right now. This is getting out of control" the king demanded, while trying to shield his mate.

"What did I tell about disrespecting Rani?" Rudra growled. His and his dragon said in unison. His more beast than man now.

The queen and Raiden's mother was trembling, struggling to say anything.

"ANSWER ME" he roared. They flinched, tears in their eyes.

"You'll burn our tongue from our filthy mouth if we disrespect Rani" Raiden's mother and the queen replied unison. Raiden's mother's body was shaking in fright. The queen paled, clutching her mate arms from behind.

"So why insult her then, when you know what I would do to you if you did?" He commanded.

"W-wwe couldn't l-llet her d-ddisrespect us" Raiden's mother stuttered. Rudra roared viciously, flames was flying out of him; spraying everywhere.

"Prince Rudra, please spare my wife. I make sure she won't insult Rani again. I give you my word" pleaded Raiden's father.

"Have mercy on my mother please, prince Rudra. I beg you" Raiden begged, putting her hands together for forgiveness. Rudra laughed like a lunatic.

"Mercy? MERCY? to her. They don't get no mercy from me, not when they insult my Rani. Now they will pay. Stick out your tongue"

"Please Rudra, I'm sorry, I won't insult her again. Have mercy on me. You wouldn't hurt your mother now, would you?" She begged. Looking at him with pleading eyes.

"You think cause your my mother, I'll spare you?" He sneered.

"I told you I don't care if you're my mother or not. You disrespect Rani far too long and now you'll pay the price. It's been over due" he said humacidle tone. The queen was completely pale now. Tears started to fall out. Raiden's mother was crying hestirical behind her husband.

"STICK YOUR TONGUE OUT NOW OR I'LL DO IT FOR YOU" he bellowed. They were hesitant about it.

"NOW" Rudra bellowed repeatly. They complied. I have to intervene. Things are already escalated as it is and just before I get a chance to have dessert. Not the time think about dessert Rani. I told myself. I blinked in front of Rudra to stop him at the same time shielding the people behind me. Even though I shouldn't but I'm no monster, even if they think I am. I will not be one.

"Rudra, darling. Look at me please? I need you to breathe for me, just breathe" I cooed.

"Move Rani, they need to pay to what they did to you" he stated. The fire in his eyes turned even brighter.

"I'm not moving Rudra. There're just words. Nothing more, nothing less. Just words. Please just let them be" I pleaded calmly.

"No" he growled

"Please swamp beast" I begged.

"No" he repeated. His flames growing around him. He pushed me aside and walked towards his parents and Raiden and her parents. Rudra lifted one of his hand and he started to twist it. It only took me a second to relise what he's doing. He swirled the flames around the queen and Raiden's mother throats, making them scream. Their mates looked back at them in horror.

"RUDRA STOP. YOU'RE GOING TO KILL THEM" the king yelled. However, Rudra didn't pay no mind to his father. He had menacing look on his face. He looked derange. He tightened the flames around them, scorching their necks in the process. Rudra use his flames to make their mother wider so that he can take their tongue. He was going to actually going to burn their tongues out. Their mates watched hopelessly. I have to do something quick. The queen's and Raiden's mother's tongues were on fire. Without thinking, darkness came out of me and coated everyone, for protection, from the flames. The flames on the queen and Raiden's mother dispense immediately, and healing it after.

"Remove your darkness Rani. They don't deserve your protection" he growled.

"No. You're going to kill them" I said.

"Remove it now" he bellowed demanding. The hall shook again. The building starting to crumble down. I shook my head, giving him a pleading look. He didn't like that. The flames around him was so bright that everyone has to shield there eyes. I notice that the pack members started to choke from the smoke coming from the flames in the hall. I can see their veins turning bright orange, there was steam coming out of them as their bodies glowed brightly. Is this Rudra doing? If so, how's he doing it? I have to get these people out of here before they get killed. Only thing I could do is extinguish the fire but to do that I have to unshield the queen, king, Raiden and her parents. So without much of a choice, I release my darkness and moved it towards the exit, making space for people to escape. I then remove the smoke from everyone and healing them at the same time. I looked at the pack members, they are recovering. Good I thought.

"LEAVE NOW" I bellowed. Whao! Where did that come from? I think about that later. Everyone left with haste. Once every pack member left the food hall, I turned round to find that Rudra use his flames and starting to burn his family, Raiden and her family. They were choking with his flames.

"RUDRA, NOOOO" I yelled to him. Without think I ran towards him and shove him with all my might, knocking him down; me falling on him in the process. The flames vanished in an instant however, Rudra roared so loudly that I had to roll off of him and cover my ears. I looked over at him. He looked like he was in pain. I panicked.

"Rudra, talk to me please. Tell me what's wrong sweetheart?" Asked worried. Did I push him too hard. I can't see any bruises on him.

"What's wrong with him? What's happening to him" I asked concerning. They just stared at me.

"Answer me" I demanded.

"It's the contract" Raiden's father stated. I just looked at him in confusion.

"Contract? What contract? How's that affecting him?" I fired questions at him. I'm so f*****g confused right now.

"The blood oath contract that Rudra and Raiden signed" he answered.
