s**t.
I winced, wondering if that expletive had gone over the mind-link. I didn’t like Aira very much, but I didn’t want to start swearing at her. Especially for a situation that wasn’t her fault.
Mind-linked to Aira Caldwell, was there any worse possible situation? I couldn’t imagine one.
Frustrated, I went outside and took off my clothes, folding them into a little pile by the side of the hotel. Then I shifted.
I ran. I just ran. I had no specific direction in mind.
I was unfamiliar with the territory. We’d surveyed it, of course, but that had been more of an overview than a guided tour. Now, with my paws digging into scrubby ground and bounding off of rocks, I wished for more trees.
Just as I was thinking about turning back, I realized I’d gotten lost. I bent to sniff the……
