Helio’s POV
I could still smell the charred wood, though the ruby she’d made of my fire was nowhere to be seen. I winced, hesitating in the doorway.
“Well, don’t let all the warm air out. You might be okay running around half-naked, but I’m old.”
Cole took a step back. “I really don’t like this.”
I knew he was afraid of magic, but this was far worse than I’d thought. Still, I needed him. I dragged him forward and closed the door before shoving him into a seat at the table. Agatha poured two cups of tea and set out cookies like usual, but she didn’t offer it to me. She set the tray between her and Cole and slid the warm tea to him. He looked like he wanted to run.
“So glad you’ve returned so soon,” Agatha said, sipping her tea. “I hope that means you’ve gotten it all sorted out already.”
