Aira’s POV
“Knox is a jerk,” I told my parents without sugarcoating it.
“You’ve only known him for a few minutes.” My father sighed.
“It was a few minutes too long!” I insisted.
The snow outside intensified as my father, my mother, and I sat by the window in his office. I didn’t know if the shift in weather was because of my frustration or my father’s.
“Aira,” my father said, “I’ve spoken with King Seb. We had a very long conversation.”
“Did he apologize?” I demanded.
“What?” my father asked.
I frowned at him. “You heard me. Did he apologize for Knox rejecting Aspen?”
My father’s jaw worked. “Well, no, but he did make a good point. They weren’t really mates, Aira. If Knox hadn’t rejected Aspen, she couldn’t be with Helio now. Your sister would be miserable.”
I scowled at him. Aspen had been sayi……
