Helio’s POV
“And make sure to keep track of the salvage operation in the south. We want those people to have their homes restored after all that flooding,” I said to Aiden.
Aiden nodded. “I’ll keep a close watch. I promise, Helio.”
“Record how many crops we were able to salvage from the blight so I know how much we need to trade for before winter,” I continued.
“I will.” Aiden gave another firm nod.
“And—” I began.
“Helio,” Cole interrupted. “Aiden’s needed elsewhere. Remember the farmers asked for an audience?”
I rubbed my forehead. “Right. Right.” I turned to Aiden. “Off with you.”
Aiden looked relieved and practically ran from my office.
I gestured for Cole to sit. “I received word that my parents made it safely to the summer palace.”
