Aspen’s POV
I stuck my head out the carriage window as we pulled into Winter Harvest’s castle courtyard, excitement bubbling up inside of me. “Hello!” I called to my family who were all waiting on the steps.
“Aspen!” my mother cried, coming down the stairs. “I’m so glad you’re here! It’s been forever.” She swept me out of the carriage the moment it stopped and into her arms.
“It’s only been a month, Mother,” I said, wheezing a bit as she hugged me tightly.
“Well, it still feels like forever,” she muttered.
Jack, Warren, and my father hugged me tightly, elbowing at each other in hopes of reaching me first. My sisters hung back but were equally happy to get their hugs in. Aira had tears in her eyes as she greeted me.
Helio alighted from the carriage and took my hand. “Nice to see all of you.”
