Helio’s POV
I watched her leave the room, lingering on her legs and the way she looked in her nightgown that was too small. I tore my gaze away, clenching my jaw and hoping that neither my father nor Drake noticed.
The heavy doors closed behind her and the sound echoed through the otherwise silent room. My father would only have called Cindra to the meeting room to humiliate her, which meant I knew Knox’s decision before I even asked the question.
“Is Knox going to reject her?” I asked, once I’d gathered my wits about me again.
My father chuckled. His lips curled into a sly smile. “Of course he will.”
I clenched my fist. Of course?
“I did try to convince Seb that it was a good match, that it could lead us to a new age of peace. I even pushed the fact that it was clearly the Goddess’s ……
