Jax looked really scared.
For the first time since I could remember, I saw an expression like fear pass over his face as he looked up at the man who I least expected to come to my rescue.
I honestly couldn’t believe what just happened before my very own eyes. It was like I was in a dream or some kind of trance.
Niklaus was coming to my rescue? If someone told me that such a day would ever come, I would have laughed until I peed myself. But it was happening before me. At the mention of my name, I tore my eyes away from Jax who was still lying on the floor that he landed on after he was pushed away by Niklaus and faced my surprising savior.
“Zoe, don’t waste my time.”
With my brain still trying to meet up with what was happening, I scrambled to my feet. I didn’t say a word as I kept looki……
