If he were any other person, I would have had a laugh about how easy he was to tease, but I had to hold back.
Where did I want to see anyone else that was ready to gift me something as thoughtful as what was on my lap? Even if I did have someone, I was not comfortable telling anyone that I was pregnant because then it was going to raise a lot of questions that I wasn’t sure I was ready to answer. They were obviously going to try to know who the father of the pup was and if they found out that it was from a non-consensual s****l encounter, there were going to be looks of pity from them. I could deal with anything as long as it was not pity. “There’s no one else that could have given me these but you, Niklaus. Thank you, but you shouldn’t have bothered.……
