“When are you leaving?” He repeated like he wasn’t taking a jackhammer to my ego. My smile disappeared as I looked at him. I knew it. I was stupid. Every single time I decided to open a part of myself to him, he shoved it close in my face and taunted me.

“I don’t understand”

I didn’t realize that he was going to ask me to leave since I was no longer pregnant. Maybe he saw me as damaged goods now that I even lost the pregnancy I was carrying. I’m sure he was thinking that since I couldn’t carry that pregnancy to full term, I wouldn’t be able to carry his; which meant that the agreement that bound us together was terminated, and I was to leave.
