The sound of the door as it closed behind me brought relief to me and I breathed out properly for the first time since he held me by the wrist.

I didn’t know what was going on with him, but I didn’t have the mental capability to deal with him, at least not just yet. My focus was on finding out why I was in so much pain and how I could stop feeling it.

“Is anyone there?” I tried to shout, but my voice wasn’t strong enough to carry as I wanted it to. Niklaus was gone, and I didn’t know how to get someone to the room. It was obvious that I was in the hospital, but I didn’t know why.
