ELIJAH
As I pulled into the driveway of my mansion, the familiar weight of my thoughts settled around me like a thick fog. The grandeur of the house felt oddly comforting yet isolating. I stepped inside, closing the door behind me, and made my way to the den, where a large board hung against the wall, covered with photos and notes.
I approached the board, my fingers lightly tracing the edges of the various images pinned to it. There was one photo, in particular, that captured my attention—a close-up of Alethea. Her smile radiated warmth, and I found myself lost in the moment.
“Alethea,” I murmured, caressing her face in the photo as if she could feel my touch. The memory of our first encounter played in my mind like a vivid movie reel, transporting me back to that……
