I walked out of the room, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I had just finished a long meeting with my father, discussing the upcoming move on the hybrids, still not able to convince him yet. The meeting had been grueling, with my father drilling me on every detail of the move. I was exhausted, but relieved that it was finally over.
As I entered the living room, I noticed my maid, Mrs. Jenkins, hovering around the couch. She was a stout woman with a kind face and a warm smile. She had been with our family for years, and I had grown to trust her implicitly.
"Master Axel, you have a visitor," she said, her voice low and discreet.
I followed her gaze to see Victoria sitting on the couch, my phone in her hand. I felt a sur……
