As we entered the party, I could feel the tension in the air. Everyone was watching us, waiting to see how I would react to Kaiden's presence. I scanned the room, my eyes locking onto his figure across the room. He looked up, our eyes meeting, and for a moment, time stood still.

Elaine nudged me, breaking the spell. "Hey, let's get a drink," she said, pulling me towards the bar.

As we waited in line, I couldn't help but steal glances at Kaiden. He looked guilty, his eyes avoiding mine.

Finally, we reached the front of the line and ordered our drinks. Elaine turned to me, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "So, are you ready to make him sweat?"

I smiled sweetly. "Oh, I'm ready."
