Elaine couldn't stop talking about the incident at the party. I didn't even want to talk about it. I was thinking about Axel, his reaction to me was somehow. I didn't expect him to act like that.

“Do you think that it was bad that I saved Kaiden? I didn't want Axel to get in trouble, that's all,” I explained.

She scoffed. “You're too soft, Alethea. Axel is also an Alpha, he can take care of himself and you saving Kaiden? What is that? Do you want people to think that you still have feelings for him?”
