I sat there, staring blankly at my phone as I tried to process the two emergency meeting requests I had just received. One from my father, the alpha, and the other from my mother. My mind was racing with thoughts of what could be so urgent that both of them needed to see me right away.

But as I sat there, trying to come up with a plan, Kaiden's voice cut through my thoughts. "What's wrong, Axel? You look like you've lost your last friend."

I glared at him, trying to come up with an excuse. "I just... uh... I have a meeting with my father," I said, trying to sound convincing.
