"How do I look?"
Rhys’ voice bounces off the walls in the otherwise silent room. Ve looks at herself in the mirror, running her hands down the side of her black silk blouse, down her black dress pants, glancing at her black high-heeled shoes. She is dressed nicely, but subtly enough not to draw any attention. Her hair is tied in a neat bun on the top of her head. Her face has the smallest amount of makeup. She looks worthy of such an event but still incredibly professional.
She has made peace with what happened the weekend before because coming up to this event she probably would have had to reveal her appearance anyway. This event is much too formal for what she was doing before.
She couldn’t risk drawing more negative attention to Rhys, it is now the most important portion of his who……
