AUTHOR’S POV
Lucas slams his hands against the steering wheel, the sharp sound echoing throughout the confined space of his vehicle, but it does nothing to alleviate his frustration.
He takes in a deep breath and looks out at the hospital parking lot. Channing has yet to enter a coma, which makes no sense. It’s been long enough—too long—and by now, the drug should have taken full effect.
He has checked everything. The dosage, and the expiration date, and even cross-checked the formula. There is no reason why it should not have worked, and his mind races as he goes over every detail, trying to find the flaw or oversight. Desperate for answers, he had called his father, pretending it was for research on a new patient.
But even his father, one of the most respected doctors he knows, was unable to……
