Wade finally sits up, breathing in ragged gasps. He has no idea how long he has been lying there, shattered and drowning in sorrow. His body feels heavy and exhausted, but as he blinks away the haze of heartbreak, something within him shifts. The deep, suffocating sadness begins to transform, twisting and contorting until it becomes something entirely different. Rage.
His hands clench into fists, and his entire body trembles as everything that happened sinks in. Nina betrayed him. She didn’t just leave—she used him. She made a fool of him, treated him like a puppet, and the worst part is he made it easy for her.
