CHANNING
I push up from my seat, ready to follow my mother, but my father stops me with a look. "I'll talk to her," he says, and I sink back into the sofa, my gaze shifting to Jennifer, who gives me a sympathetic look.
She warned me there would be resistance and honestly I expected more. I expected both of my parents to tell me I was rushing things and try to talk me out of it because I knew the moment I announced I was getting married, they would start having ideas again.
