Becca stared at the pile of discarded dresses; she couldn't remember when she was this stressed about what to wear on a date. She had gone on plenty of dates, but this one felt different. Something about Chad made her want to be at her best.
She spent the day thinking about last night's events. She couldn't believe that he held her all night—heck, she couldn't believe that she let him—but he always seemed to have this warm and calming energy about him.
She has always had a hard time with thunderstorms ever since the accident. She hasn't enjoyed one since.
She remembered when it was her favourite pastime: sitting on the back deck with her dad, watching the ferocious downpour wash away the world's stresses. But all that changed the moment one of them took away her parents.
