Colton charged into the front line of his elite warriors. This was the second spontaneous rogue attack in less than two months. None of this made any sense. Rogues weren’t dumb. They didn’t attack prepared and well-trained packs and never toyed with royal Court-affiliated packs, such as theirs. Too many allied forces were behind them, and they wouldn’t stand a chance. Colton was confused over the first attack, but this time, it was unnerving. It made no logical sense.
As Colton met up with the front line, warriors guarding the south wall, his mind wandered back to what his little shadow had said. She wasn’t a rogue; she was a genuine pack female. She was kidnapped and falsely imprisoned, then tortured by her own true mate.
When she told him, he had to step away from her after hearing her ……
