Colton held onto Rebecca tightly.
He had never been so scared to lose someone as he was when he saw the disgusting rogue pinning her down to the ground. The idea that the rogue dared not only harm her when she was under his protection but also try to take advantage of her shook him to the core. If he could, he’d kill the rogue all over again.
“Colton,” her voice was small, and she sounded exhausted from emotions and fighting to survive.
“Hmm?” he responded, but didn’t release her from his possessive embrace.
“Are you okay? You’re sure you’re not upset with me, right?” He hated how unsure she still was.
“As long as you’re safe, I’m perfect. I promise I’m not upset with you, just myself.”
