"Becca," a voice called from the far left row of seats. "Over here."
When Becca turned to look, she found her friends waving her over. The three girls wasted no time exchanging mournful hugs. When they sat in their seats, they all linked hands.
"Hey guys, how have you both been?" Becca asked, noticing Connie and Vee's appearance.
"We're alright, given the circumstances," Connie answered.
"Yeah, I've been staying with Byron. He has a house not too far from school."
"Wait, Byron has a house? Isn't he still in school?"
"His dad gave it to him two weeks ago as a gift. I'm not sure of the reason, but it's been nice. Especially now with Lizzie and such. I like going home to someone ready to comfort me."
"Sitting right here, jerk!" Connie joked.
"So, Connie, are you going to be getting another dorm mate,……
