The sound of her retreating footsteps lingered in my ears even after she was long gone. I clenched my fists, my claws piercing my palm till it bled.
Luna.
Even the way her name echoed in my mind was a problem. I heard from magot that her name was Luna and damn the name suites her. And if not of the council elders plans I want to make her my Luna. It wasn’t just the bond—it was her, her stubbornness, her presence that somehow seemed to invade every corner of my thoughts.
“Damn it,” I muttered, pushing the stack of papers off my desk. They scattered across the floor, but I didn’t care.
I had been avoiding her, hoping that distance would somehow weaken the bond. When I ordered the guards to deliver my meals to my quarters, it wasn’t just to keep her away. It was to keep me away from her.
