"May I help?" Laurel quickly asked, breaking away from Darius. His face immediately fell without his knowledge. He disliked how empty he felt once she was gone.
Linda was a hard-working and fast worker. Her hands were working on some vegetables as well as stirring something in the pot. When Laurel came over, asking if she could help, Linda almost instinctively refused.
She was gravely against Luna doing such things. She didn't stop Laurel last time when she wanted to cook something for Darius personally. However, how could Luna work alongside the likes of them?! It was not the same!
"No, Luna. Please wait outside. Breakfast is almost done!" Linda put on a smile, but her hands didn't stop.
