Laurel frowned and woke up with a start. In the dark room, she opened her eyes and gasped. The bedside clock said it was a bit over midnight.
"Why do I feel so restless?" Laurel mumbled to herself in the empty room.
A loud howl reached her ears from a distant place. It sounded desperate and commanding at the same time. Laurel didn't feel like sleeping anymore.
All that sleep left her body, and she inexplicably decided to leave her room. The howls stopped, but Laurel's feet didn't.
The door was opened, and Laurel walked out barefoot. She didn't know why, but her chest felt stuffy inside the room. Something in my mind told her to go outside. Maybe fresh air was going to fix it.
She stopped by Alpha Darius' room for a bit, wondering if he was sleeping peacefully. She passed by and walked outside o……
