"No, no, no" I cried as I watched Rowan close his eyes. He was trembling again. I hoped it had worked when he opened his eyes and spoke. I had lit up with pride for what Ren had accomplished. But I felt defeated when I lost him again.

I put my hand on his forehead, I let out a sigh of relief when I felt that his fever had finally gone down.

'Thank you Ren,' I told my wolf. 'You are amazing.'

Ren purred in response, 'I think he will make it through this,' she said with determination. 'I think his body is just weak.'

'If his heart is intact and it is just his body that is broken, should I bring him to get medical help?' I asked Ren.

'What will you tell them El? The humans will demand to know how he came to be in this condition,' Ren said firmly.
