By the time I made it out of the woods I was panting. My head was growing fuzzy. I realized I hadn't eaten all day and it was close to 1 in the morning. I went up the stairs to my apartment.
Locked.
I cursed under my breath but was also thankful someone had kept my place safe.
I decided I'd go to Bryan's. I wasn't quite sure how to explain any of this but I needed somewhere safe to crash. Lucky for me, Bryan was only a few blocks away. I didn't have any money on me or I would've hailed a cab. I also didn't have shoes. I glanced down at myself as my bare feet hit the sidewalk. The clothes that Rachel had given me were bloodied and dirty. All my bandages were covered in sweat and grime. I was thankful that the streets were bare.
