I threw myself into my project all evening. Having Tessa point out I had changed and her flippant attitude about me giving her a direct order had put me in a foul mood. I had changed a lot in the last 2 years after my parents sent me away. I still remember the panic and betrayal I had felt when they had first told me of their plan for me.
"You are going to be the future leader of this pack," my dad had commanded, "And you know nothing of sacrifice and the price of hard decisions."
I had scoffed at his statement, "Is that not what you intended? By making this pack strong so I did not have to struggle?" I had challenged.
My mother had touched my face, her vivid blue eyes pleading, "Your father has only been able to keep this pack strong since he knows what we have went through. ……
