I was silently working to clean Rowan's arm, trying not to restart the bleeding as I considered what Rachel told me. After hearing what happened, was it possible that Tessa did not truly love Rowan? If her wolf was the only thing that made her feel anything for him, was the mate bond surface level? I didn't have anything forcing me to love Rowan and yet I felt I would go into harm's way for him. I just couldn't believe that our kind were so broken without both our halves.
