I watched as Luna Grace confidently approached Rowan, "I came to ask your nan for her help... once again...to save us from Cain ."

"Again?" he asked, his eyes darting to his nan.

"Yes. Your nan and your father were vital to our victory over Blood Moon. Your father gave up his life to save us. To save his mate....and you," Grace told him, glancing quickly at Rowan's mother and then back to Rowan. "I am very sorry that you were raised under a treacherous lie. You should have been told all the stories of your father and how he loved you so much he willingly gave his life so you could grow up safely." Grace stared down Rowan's mother with disdain.

"I had to keep him safe!" his mother cried, balling her hands into fists.
