I had no idea how much time had passed. Rachel and I were as far away from Rowan as we could physically be. He sat, unmoving, staring blankly ahead. Rachel had been groaning for hours as the poison worked it's way through her. It was a slow and agonizing way to hurt your wolf, especially since her wolf was already in a weakened state.
She screamed in pain and frustration, covering her face. Rowan and I looked at her, he had fear in his eyes. When she lowered her hands, her eyes were terrifyingly dark.
"s**t," Rowan said, trying to scoot further away. The chains pulled on his wrists.
I could see the panic rising in him as he desperately pulled against the chains on his wrists. My eyes widened and I took in a sharp breath as the faint scent of his blood reached my nose.
"Rowan....Rowan st……
