Sierra’s POV
The chill lingered in the air even after I tried to shake off the eerie feeling. My heart still thumped in my chest as I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to convince myself it was all in my imagination. But just as I started to calm down, a loud knock on my door made me jump.
“Come in,” I called out, my voice coming out more brittle than I intended.
The door opened, and Jayden strode into my room. His expression was unreadable, but there was a coldness in his eyes that I had come to recognize over the past few days. He leaned against the door frame, his gaze assessing me like he was trying to solve a particularly frustrating puzzle.
“What do you want?” I asked, doing my best to keep my voice steady.
Jayden didn’t move, but his presence filled the room, suffocating and heavy. “……
