Sierra’s POV
When I woke up, my heart was racing. The dreams had felt so real—too real. I could still feel the damp earth beneath my paws, the cool wind tangling in my fur, and the thrill of running faster than I’d ever thought possible.
But when I looked down at myself, I was still human. My hands trembled slightly as I pushed back the covers and stood, unsteady on my feet. Something had shifted inside me, though. I wasn’t the same.
The day unfolded like the one before. My senses remained heightened, every sound and smell amplified to an almost unbearable degree. At school, I tried to avoid Bella and Nate, afraid they’d notice how distracted I was. I could barely focus in class.
