Sierra’s POV
The ride back to the Lawrence estate was painfully quiet. Bella sat beside me in the car, her gaze flicking toward me every few moments, but she didn’t say a word. I appreciated her silence; I wasn’t sure I could handle any more questions or reassurances. My head was spinning with everything that had just happened—Liam’s words, Jayden’s anger, and the power inside me that I still didn’t fully understand.
When we pulled up to the grand estate, the house was eerily calm. But I knew better. Tension hung in the air, thick and heavy, as if the walls themselves were holding their breath.
Mrs. Lawrence was waiting for us in the foyer, her posture rigid, her expression unreadable. The moment she saw me, she stepped forward, her eyes scanning me for injuries.
“Sierra,” she said, her voice ……
