Sierra’s POV
As we lay tangled together afterward, catching our breath, I brushed my fingers over his chest and murmured, “Why didn’t you tell me it’s your birthday next week?”
Jayden blinked in surprise, then laughed softly. “You found out, huh?”
“Of course, I found out,” I said, propping myself up on one elbow to look at him. “Why didn’t you say anything? Don’t you want to celebrate?”
He shrugged, his expression softening. “Birthdays haven’t been a big deal for me in a long time. I’ve got too much going on to think about it.”
“Well, that’s going to change,” I said firmly. “I’m finding you the perfect gift.”
He raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at his lips. “You don’t have to get me anything, Sierra. You being here is enough.”
I rolled my eyes playfully. “Nice try. But I’m serious.”
