Doris looked calm on the outside but on the inside, her thoughts were a jumbled mess. Ever since her Mother's death, she had wanted to know why Westley had received her inheritance, and the questions that often came to her mind caused her a lot of stress. Thus, when her Father brought the topic up, she had begun to panic.
Walking out of the hospital, Doris felt as if her feet had been dipped in led, and every step seemed harder to take than the last had. She trusted her Father not to lie to her, but something didn't seem right with what he'd said. She thought that he might be using her to try and kill his rivals, and that didn't sit well with her.
Doris walked aimlessly down the street, taking random turns here and there, and was surprised to discover that her feet took her to the front ……
