By the time they got up to Westley's bedroom, Doris was practically shaking. She had no idea what he had planned for her, but she was pretty sure it would be indecent. As he closed the door, she took the initiative to open his wardrobe, but she didn't see anything out of the ordinary there.
"Here," Westley said. He was behind her, and when she turned around, and she saw what he intended for her to wear, she began to panic.
"No," she gasped. "Not that. Please! Not that one!"
"Are you trying to go back on your word?" Westley asked as he pushed the white package into her arms. It was the "dress" that Lydia had given her for her birthday: a garment she had never worn, and didn't know if she had ever intended to wear. She had almost forgotten about it.
"Don't be such a wisenheimer,"……
