I was in a meeting with Desi, Pax, Herman, and Allan, the war was coming, and King Silas had asked us to help protect his borders. Allan will fight with the Fae since he is on Mike's team, Draven has gone to meet up with Emile and Elijah, as he has become the head general of my army. He was good at it, a no-nonsense type of guy, but was down to earth with those he held dear to him, I wouldn't want to piss him off. I was always happy to see her or Ruby, I love them and nothing would change that, we started to eat when Ruby walked in and sat on my lap and I fed her. We talked and joked together, I loved that they were somewhat friends, they proceeded to tell me about their day, and I always listened to what my mates had to say. She had a new haircut, and she leaned in and kissed my cheek saying, "Hey Dad," I saw a girl with her at the door and I asked, "Who is that?" She smiled and said, "My girlfriend," Ruby said, "Well don't let her stand there, introduce us." I agreed with Ruby, and she introduced us to her girlfriend Lana, she seemed shy and didn't know what to say after meeting us.

Lana was an Ice Dragon and seemed to love my daughter, but they weren't mates, I didn't care because Livia had a good head on her shoulders. I wish she would take the crown, but she doesn't want it because she is gay, leaving the responsibility to my teenage son who is training for the role. After lunch, I got into my car and headed over to Jae's penthouse, I was surprised he hadn't changed the code on me, I had guards in the building because Jae was stubborn. I was in the elevator heading to his living quarters and I wondered why he pushed back so hard against me, where did I go wrong with him? I saw the scenery from his balcony towering over the city, I knew how lovely it was up here at night and smiled.

I poured some scotch from his liquor cabinet, he always had the best and most expensive up here, Ruby mind-linked me, "Dom, go easy on him. I know how heated it gets when you both are in the same room, we want him home during this war, don't shut him out," I acknowledged and sighed. I knew she was right, and I finished the scotch before deciding to go to his bedroom and find out why he was not in the Palace with his siblings. I looked at my watch because I was expecting Ty later and pushed his door, forgetting to knock, he looked up at me while having some woman bent over on the bed as he kept thrusting inside of her, she was moaning as he mind-linked me, "Why the f**k are you here, Dom?" I headed to the airport to get on the private jet returning to Dragonmare after my father summoned us back for our safety. I didn't care, but I knew my mother would be worried, so I was returning home, I got out of the limo and walked inside the airport to meet with Libby. He said, "Turn around," I did as he asked and looked down the corridor, I told my men, "Stand down and don't notify anyone until I say so," then walked to meet him. " He said, "I know your father is neutral in all of this, but I want to make a deal," I asked, "What deal?" He said, "I need you to take your father out and sit on his throne, once I have taken Aidan and the others down, we can have an allyship." I smirked and asked, "What makes you think I would kill my father?" He said, "I know you and him don't see eye to eye and I heard he has robbed you of your birthright." I knew someone was talking who shouldn't, he handed me a dagger saying, "This would kill him," I looked at it, and it was an ancient blade, it could kill a dragon no doubt. I heard Libby behind me saying, "Hey, let's go," we headed to the plane as I linked General Tommen about seeing Roman at the airport.

We reached my penthouse a few hours later, I should have gone to the Palace, but I had a lot on my mind, so I poured a scotch for Libby and myself. I sat looking at the afternoon sky, I took out the dagger again, and I thought about what Roman said, I should take my father out, but he had changed his successor, and I wasn't it. I would need to change it without him knowing before I entertained the idea, I was taken out of my thoughts when Libby knelt, took my d**k out, and wrapped her mouth around it. He said, "Mia is my fated mate, Jae, and your mother is my chosen, I never stop loving you because Mia came into the picture, it got complicated because I had to choose, but I didn't because I love your mother and Mia." I didn't know what to say, I felt like he was hiding something, but I said nothing, he said, "Come back to the Palace, Jae, at least until the war is over, bring your girlfriend." I said, "She is not my girlfriend or mate, but I will bring her over later," I watched him leave but still thought he should name me his successor and I walked into the living room, took the dagger off the floor, and said, "Tempting."
