I had servants attending to my every need, my heart beat out of my chest realizing I would be bound to Dominic for a long time, it all depends on his mark because dragons mate for life. I had to do this to save my people and my father wouldn't die in vain, I saw all the flowers, he even had my favorite sunflowers brought to the chapel. I smiled at the gesture, but it didn't change how I felt about him, I heard the stories of the fire dragons and hated him. After I was ready, I heard a knock on the door knowing this was it, my wedding dress was off-shoulder with long sleeves, the trail was long and the veil hid my face, I was led to the hallway and saw my uncle, who kissed my cheek before the door opened. He walked me down the aisle and I saw the king and Prince Dominic looking at me, I also saw his mistress, who looked on, but you could tell that she was not happy.

We faced each other as the vows were said, and we cut each other's hands, mixing our blood, signifying us as one for our people, I could feel him now, and I know he could feel me, we both hated each other. We knelt as his father announced him as the new king, he placed the crown on his head, and then I was crowned Queen as the crowd cheered for the newfound Kingdom. As the night winded down, I was led to the king's bedroom and I panicked, I wasn't ready to give myself to him, he was sitting on the bed in a robe, and he looked at me and said, "You don't have to sleep with me, but the servants will be notifying the elders if we consummated the union or not." I woke up to the drapes being pulled and the sunlight hitting my face, I saw Clarissa looking at me in shock asking, "Where is the King?" I turned to the left of me and realized he had never come to bed, I smiled and said, "He is probably out," she nodded and fixed my bath for me. They checked the sheets and I said, "Nothing happened, we were tired," she nodded before I took my bath and headed to start the day as Queen.

I was beginning to learn the ropes of my new role, I had no idea Dom would choose me to be his second-in-command, or I would have trained for the role. The first thing I have to do is beef up the new Queen's security, this is new territory for her, but she was mated to Dom to save her people and bring the kingdom together. I had the best of my recruits assigned to the new Queen and a guard assigned to Dom's royal mistress, Ruby. Ruby wasn't happy with the outcome as we were expecting her to be Queen and quickly things changed with the civil war. Later in the afternoon, I visited Ruby to let her know about the guard, she was happy and asked, "Where is Dominic?" I let her know he would be in a meeting before meeting up with Queen Aremia, she didn't like the idea and asked, "What do you know about her?"

I said, "She seems nice, and she is Queen, Dom loves you, and you don't have to worry," before heading off to meet Aremia about her guards. Aremia was sitting in the garden overlooking the valley that led to her homeland, I sat beside her admiring her beauty, she had beautiful gray eyes, that almost passed for white in the sun. Her ice blue hair brought them out, I was brought out of my thoughts when she said, "Stop staring, my lord," I smiled as she looked me in the eyes and asked, "What brings you here?" I said, "Sorry, Your Majesty...," she cut me off and said, "Call me Aremia or Mia for short." I acknowledged and introduced her to her guards, Benson and Lloyd, they nodded and backed off. I told her, "Sometimes they will be seen depending on where you are or not be seen to give you your privacy, but they will take turns and always be around you." She smiled and asked, "Are you mated, my lord?" I cleared my throat and smiled, saying, "No, I am not, but hopefully, one day," she smiled.

She said, "Tell me about my enemy," I smirked and said, "He is not your enemy, he is your husband and king, but I understand that you both hated the pairing, although it was best for both clans." She looked at her hand and said, "I wasn't sure what he would do to me, I expected to be a slave or something," I laughed, and said, "Absolutely not, we never treat our women as slaves, and you are not just some random woman. You are his Queen and the rest of us will give you the respect you deserve, I have other pressing matters to adhere to, you can link me if you need me." She said, "Thank you, Lord Paxson, I needed to hear that," I looked into her eyes before she held her head down and saw water settle there. I lifted her chin to look at me and said, "I promise you, Dom will never abuse you in any way," her skin was soft to the touch and I backed away realizing we were too close to each other and I didn't want to give anyone ideas, as I tipped my hat and left her alone with one of her guards.
