Watching him smile as he let go of her, Astrid’s cheeks grew red. She just couldn’t peer directly into those eyes. Her eyelashes fluttered like the wings of a butterfly.
“I looked so silly,” mumbled Astrid.
Before she’d turn away from him, he pulled her back to him and told her, “No, you didn't. I’m glad you’re here for me.”
Unsure of what had gotten into Davies since he was grabbing her more than usual, Astrid asked him, “Did something happen?”
He ended up awkwardly staring at her without uttering a word. The only thing that Astrid discerned from the expression on his face was a sense of grief. Upon being asked about the reason for that, the guy stood still like a stone. Davies wasn’t willing to talk about it. This, Astrid decided that it should become a matter of discussion on some ot……
