MISTAKE?

It was another day at the court. While sitting with her legs crossed, Astrid gazed at an old man who complained about his unruly son. The old man was from the peasantry. Thus, he had a positive outlook for the empress. That was evident when he suggested, "If it wouldn't have been for you, we would've continued to persist in that hell. You are our salvation."

"I am glad I could help the very people that provide the labour and produce to the capital," Astrid paid reverence to the peasants. 

The crowd cheered upon hearing the empress's views on the peasantry class that contrasted with the previous emperor.  However, the nobles didn't appreciate the young woman's view of the 'one that was lowly born'. Their discontent was evident on their faces. Empress was not ignorant of that.
