Leaving the hospital, Lucy felt depressed in a way that these visits didn’t normally leave her. She knew that she needed to ask William for a favor, but the thought of doing so made her feel ashamed, because they were lovers. That being said, it was not convenient to stay in the hospital all day long, so it would be better to ask William to schedule the operation for Avril as soon as possible (rather than wait).
Lucy thought about this a lot, but her thoughts were in vain. There were no opportunities to talk to William. He was very busy with work, so they hadn’t seen each other for more than a week.
