When William and Lucy arrived home from work, Byron greeted them at the door. He wanted to thank them for everything that they’d done. As for Christina, she was on the couch, talking on the phone.
“Alright,” she laughed into the receiver. “Let's meet tomorrow at Mrs. Lee's house."
Elizabeth said goodbye, and then she hung up the phone happily. Once Lucy had her shoes off, Elizabeth invited her to sit with her. She smiled and said, “You have been married to William for a long time. Why aren’t you pregnant yet?”
Before she could reply, Elizabeth stepped out of the kitchen and said, “I have been asking them the same question for months!”
